The Livewell

Livewell March 2016

Small Lake Motor/Prop Rule Notification - The club has been notified by the Water Patrol and by the CA Board that strong enforcement of the rule regarding "motor in the up position" on the small lake will be applied going forward.  The bottom line is that if you have a boat motor that is higher than a 9.9HP on the small lake, the motor needs to be trimmed up with the prop showing above the water.

First offense will get a warning, $50 fine for the next offense, $100 fine for the next, and $250 after that.  The club asks all members to be diligent in adhering to this rule to avoid future conflicts with the Water Patrol and CA Board.  We also ask that Class 7 boat owners be extra cautious because an offense by a Class 7 boat may bring upon a "Class 7 Strike" against the club.  The club reserves the right for suspension or disciplinary measures against Class 7 offenders to protect the rest of the Class 7 boaters.

Habitat Work Day:   The Christmas trees have all been moved and staged at Windjammer Point.  If you would like to help out with the placement and sinking of the trees, please mark your calendar for March 13th, starting at 8:00am and going until noon at WindJammer Point, weather permitting.

2016 Monthly Fish Contest Begins April 1st: The 2016 monthly fish contests begin on April 1st.  You can enter your big catch in one of any of six fish species categories for a chance to win a $10.00 gift certificate to Bullseye Bait and Tackle. If your big fish is also the biggest fish entered in a category for the entire year, you will also win a trophy that will be presented to you at the club Christmas party in December.  You are allowed only 1 fish species entry per month.  You cannot enter multiple fish species in the same month.  As of right now, there is no weigh box on the big lake.   The weigh box on the small lake can be found on Tino DiFranco's dock.  If you need a key, contact Mike Olsen to purchase one.  You can now also enter your fish online by using the "Fish Contest Entry Form" that can be found in the "Resources" menu box on the right side, main page.

The minimum category fish weights are as follows:

Largemouth Bass = 4.00 lbs

Hybrid Striped Bass = 4.00 lbs

Catfish = 5.00 lbs

Carp = 5.00 lbs

Crappie = 0.7 lbs
