The Livewell

Livewell February 2020

February 4th Lakes and Parks Meeting:  On February 4th, your Anglers Club officers and a couple board members attended the monthly Lakes and Parks meeting to express concerns over how the new bar at Windjammer is affecting our weekend tournament weigh-ins, bbq's, and other club events held at Windjammer.  Club BOD Vinh Truong put together an outline and presented it at the meeting showing some possible solutions for our weekend weigh-ins/events such as having a concrete pad poured between the bathroom and gas dock building where we could have a level spot with tables to use after our tournaments.  We also expressed our concerns about parking with boat trailers and the issues we experienced last year where we had to ask people to move their vehicles so we get get our trucks/trailers out of the parking spots.  The CA General Manager and Water Patrol Manager were there and were very receptive to our concerns and it appears that they are already going to address them this year if possible.  There are changes in the works for Windjammer that have not been finalized.  All in all, we feel like it was a positive discussion and they are going to look into our considerations.

Angler of the Year Promotion:  For those of you that do not know, the club has a points contest each year to promote more member volunteer involvement for events and work days, meeting attendance, and to give a special opportunity to fish in a club sponsored tournament for those that qualify.  Predefined points are given for those that attend meetings, fish tournaments, and help out with club events.  Members that get 90 points or more are qualified to fish our Angler of the Year tournament at no cost for club provided prize money and the winner gets their name on a plaque in the CA Clubhouse.  Here is the breakdown of points -
